In the past four years I have witnessed firsthand how the truth of God’s promises are intended for every person ever born. There is never a problem with this truth, the problem is always with us greedy humans as we seek the things that are not of God most times and then attempt to blame the God we refuse to seek. The days are very limited now as time is coming to a close and the reality of this is even more evident with each passing day. I thank Yahweh (God) and His Son Yeshua (Jesus) for the gift of salvation through the Christ (anointed one)! The beauty of this world is seen for those who know this truth in Christ and we are transformed by this truth in so many ways. It opens one’s eyes to the evil but it also opens one’s eyes to what really matters in life!
1 Corinthians 1:3-10
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge,
6 even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you,
7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
8 who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgement.
I was once caught in the lies of this world and in these lies I lost sight of the things that mattered most in life. My family and friends that the living God puts in my life so that we can experience the truth of fellowship. See God intends for us to be loved and give love to those around us. When we are born this is embedded into our DNA but the wicked world we live in slowly pushes this out of us. For some of us we were blessed to have parents that did their best to love us. For others we were not so fortunate. No matter what the situation may be in each person’s life, there is one truth that surpasses any situation. This is the truth of Yahweh’s (God’s) love for us all that is displayed in the truth of what Jesus did for us all. We all seek this love from the time we are born till the time we draw our last breath. Those who say otherwise are just full of pain that is the result of lacking this love to begin with. Lack of real love just causes us to seek this love in all the wrong things. When one becomes older they will set into what ways they have adopted to be right and the natural pride of being human sets in with it. Those who have been deceived into the evils idea of love will fall apart from the inside out only to seek more lies from the same evil that taught them the lie to begin with. After 60 plus years or more of the idea that same gender sexual relationships is okay, we see the decay of society here in America like never before.
In the above text that we have from Paul in the first century, Paul explains that mankind can be redeemed into true fellowship through the Christ who is Jesus! For me personally I was raised in the idea of what most call church but I would only find out that the idea of it and the truth of it is totally different. It isn’t in the building that we find this fellowship, it is in the open interaction with the people that are in a building or anywhere for that matter. When I was at the end of my rope in my life I realized that I was so broken from chasing the lies of this world. Money, career choices, status, acceptance, and the list goes on but in the end it always left me void of being real with people. I would only make a standard in my head that would set an expectation of who I thought I wanted to be by what the world deceived me into believing I should be and this would let me down over and over. In reality I was never really let down with my life, it was the false expectation I believed my life should have been that I was let down by. Most call this moment a mid-life crisis but what it really is, is the truth knocking at your heart. When 30 or more years go by and you have just accepted so many lies to be true you get tired and weak inside. For most we seek self-medication in drugs of some sort, rather legal or illegal or alcohol. Some seek the constant approval of what others think so that they can be approved constantly by those in their world around them. What happens when the world you have accepted to be true crashes down around you? What do you do when you lose someone that you have loved so dear in life? How can I really know truth in a world so full of lies?
1 Corinthians 1:9
9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
2 Corinthians 6:14
14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 13:14
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
All the verses above were written to people who were trapped in the same kind of lies we are still witnessing today. The people in Corinth were torn between a Greek past and a Roman present at that time Paul was alive. See Rome had taken control of the city about 150 years or so before Christ was born. When the letters were written by Paul the majority of the population was dedicated to false gods and living life for all the desires of the flesh. They were sexually active with many different partners, they were drunks and gluttons only seeking the lies of what they have accepted to be true. When Jesus appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus it transformed the heart of Paul into a warrior of truth. Paul was telling the people in Corinth that this truth could make all men free if they would just believe in the truth of what Jesus did at the cross. All religions consist of people making promises to their gods when in fact the living God gave us His word to prove it was Him that makes promises to us and keeps them no questions asked! The Christ (anointed one) Jesus was just the greatest promise Yahweh ever made!
John 8:31-32
31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
The fellowship that comes from this truth is one of so many ways that it makes it all so real in the physical. See the world offers fellowship with others but when the people you are fellowshipping with realize that you run out of the things they are seeking then then soon disappear. It is a false pretense of love and it leaves people drained inside. The living God created us to be relational beings which thrives off of being open and honest with those we love so that we can be there for one another. It doesn’t mean that we are only there for the things people can provide physically, it means that we are there because we want to truly love them because they are created in God’s image. In Christ we attempt to be selfless with others not selfish. Those who are in Christ should know we are being made free which is still a process. This is why Jesus tells his disciples that "the truth will make you free"!
Paul wanted the people to know that they could trade the lies of their false gods for the truth of what the living God had ordained through Christ. This changes the hearts of mankind which in turn will change the physical world around people. It teaches us what is really important in life and the treasures of life are those we are given to love, not the things that we can acquire in this life. It gives us the true fellowship that was intended all along. It is mankind being redeemed in truth and this is only possible by believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ!
Acts 17:22-34
22 So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.
23 “For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.
24 “The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;
25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
28 for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’
29 “Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.
30 “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, (change their minds)
31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.”
32 Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some began to sneer, but others said, “We shall hear you again concerning this.”
33 So Paul went out of their midst.
34 But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.
Paul proclaimed the truth to a world that was so disconnected from the truth and millions were saved from the lies. We live in a time where lies have become dominant again but the fact of the matter is the same truth remains in Jesus the Christ. The same love we all long for since the beginning of time is still evident inside of mankind! It is just being misled towards the same lies that Paul addresses above. The same fellowship these people truly long for, we all long for! When a person comes to realize this truth, they can chose to embrace it and make Jesus their Lord! This allows us to meet others who have embraced it as well and the living God weaves us into relationships that are real and tangible proving the power of God and His Christ! I witness this daily now and it is so powerful to see this light crush the darkness that was set in because of the lies of evil. Many of us have had things happen in life that labels us and with a label it makes it hard to be accepted places, even in some so called churches. The fact of the matter is that no matter what has happened in one’s past, the truth of what happens in Christ truly proves the fruit that comes with this truth. You will see it and good fruit is drawn to other good fruit. It means that true characters are proven in all people. We have to love all people but we do not have to conform to the lies again making us complacent in life. It allows us to let God bring in our lives those needed to complete His will. The real fellowship never dies and the fake fellowship will weave its way out in time. In the process of this we who are patient, gentle, and loving in all things, will allow the Holy Spirit of the living God to work all things together for His will! This includes our fellowship with others! Sometimes we will force fellowship in the hopes this is the will of God but in turn people will soon fall off if this is selfish centered not selfless centered. Our Lord Jesus taught us all one needs to know about being selfless but the question is, “Is one truly seeking the Lord Jesus, or just manipulating the ones who are?” May Yahweh bless you all and His Christ guide your steps in the days ahead!
