Repenting Now

When I take a good hard look at the world around me, it makes the evidence of God’s word so much more real in my life as well as the truth it holds throughout all of History. I have mentioned many times that what we call history is exactly just that! It is His-Story, it is Yahweh’s (the living God’s) story. When one takes the time to read the words of Yahweh’s Christ (anointed one) who is Jesus of Nazareth, then we can begin to believe in the one who was born to redeem all of creation. When we choose to believe in the finished work of Yeshua (Jesus) then everything in us and around us begins to change. It has nothing to do with what one can do or attempt to achieve, rather it is all about the Holy (set apart) spirit that comes from the Father (Yahweh) through Christ into one who believes. Look at what Jesus told us!

Matthew 4:12-17

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee;

13 and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

14 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:

15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,

By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—

16 “The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light,

And those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death,

Upon them a Light dawned.”

17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

This is what Jesus is telling all the people around him after the fact that he had just previously encountered John the Baptist. See Jesus was not the first person to tell the people to “repent, for the kingdom of heaven was at hand”. Look at what we are told John said?

Matthew 3:1-3

1 Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,

2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

3 For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said,

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness,

‘Make ready the way of the Lord,

Make His paths straight!’ ”

John was warning the people prior to Jesus coming around, and the people understood that they needed to change their minds about who they were serving. See the people of that time who truly wanted to seek Yahweh’s face knew that something was seriously wrong within the synagogues and the way that the Pharisees were conducting their business with God. Why do you think that John the Baptist would have been deemed a heretic. Someone who was going against the will of the religious men of that time. This fact has never changed even after Jesus ascended to the Father Yahweh. Romans chased down the true followers of Jesus and within the next few hundred years the romans were adopting Christianity only to make it their own religion of rules and regulations that would become foolish nonsense even up to this day.

To truly repent (change one’s mind) it has to be the Holy Spirit of Yahweh that comes over us. Look at Peter who walked with Jesus and loved Jesus so much. Even Peter who witnessed the miracles and all that Jesus did, even after that all took place Peter denied Jesus when Jesus was about to be crucified. Peter could do nothing about the inner urge to save his own butt. Peter could never truly serve the living God or Yahweh’s son Jesus without the Holy Spirit. That is why the Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost!

Acts 2:1-5

1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.

2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.

5 Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.

This is what changes everything for everyone who truly repents. We have to understand that Jesus, the Christ (anointed one) of Yahweh, has defeated death! Death literally means “separation” from Yahweh. Now because of this we can be redeemed and allow the spirit that was once set apart from us, become one in us changing us from the inside out. This is what Peter told the people after the Spirit came into him!

Acts 2:22-24

22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know—

23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

24 “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

Do you realize how important this is? I can go on for days about doctrines and traditions, but it does no good if people refuse to repent about who they serve. We serve ourselves and the things of this world or even people in this world, but all the while get lost in the deception of evil. We can be led astray from the very beginning of coming to Christ as well if we are taught all wrong. The grace of Yahweh has been bestowed on the children of Israel for a long time and History proves it. We also have the words that were recorded in the book we call the Bible! Look!

Deuteronomy 30:1-6

1 “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you,

2 and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons,

3 then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.

4 “If your outcasts are at the ends of the earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back.

5 “The Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.

6 “Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.

The truth is that what we have through Christ is even greater than all this. Jesus was given the authority over all creation and the heavens. Jesus is the way to the Father and the way to be redeemed inside of our hearts.

If we were to look at the story of Lot who was the brother of Abraham, then we could see something very important that so many people miss or fail to see. The people of Sodom were evil people so full of pride and committing acts that were unspeakable. They were lusting after the same sex and full of parties that would drag them further away from God not towards Him. Look! What happen after God rained down fire and brimstone one these people.

Genesis 19:27-29

27 Now Abraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the Lord;

28 and he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the valley, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a furnace.

29 Thus it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of the evil they were partaking in. The people of the world knew that the flood had taken place prior to all this. They knew that the promise of the living God was that He would never flood the earth again but one day the earth would be made new by fire. That is why this happened next!

Genesis 19:30-38

30 Lot went up from Zoar, and stayed in the mountains, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to stay in Zoar; and he stayed in a cave, he and his two daughters.

31 Then the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of the earth.

32 “Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him that we may preserve our family through our father.”

33 So they made their father drink wine that night, and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

34 On the following day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve our family through our father.”

35 So they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

36 Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.

37 The firstborn bore a son, and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day.

38 As for the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.

The daughters of Lot thought this was the end of the world again and that they had to repopulate the earth like Noah and his family had to do. The truth is though that there was still plenty of people on the earth and they just had no clue. Look at who was born though! Moab! If we want to talk about changing our minds about who we serve then we can take a good look at a woman named Ruth! Ruth was born down the line from the same physical seed that came from Lot’s daughter sleeping with Lot!

Ruth 1:1-4

1 Now it came about in the days when the judges governed, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem in Judah went to sojourn in the land of Moab with his wife and his two sons.

2 The name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife, Naomi; and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem in Judah. Now they entered the land of Moab and remained there.

3 Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left with her two sons.

4 They took for themselves Moabite women as wives; the name of the one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth. And they lived there about ten years.

I urge anyone who reads this to read all of this for themselves so that you can see we can truly repent (change our mind) about who we serve and then be made knew by submitting our hearts to the Christ and the Father of all creation! See the fact is that Ruth ended up serving someone else too!

Ruth 2:11-13

11 Boaz replied to her, “All that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband has been fully reported to me, and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people that you did not previously know.

12 “May the Lord reward your work, and your wages be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge.”

13 Then she said, “I have found favor in your sight, my lord, for you have comforted me and indeed have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.”

Notice how Ruth calls Boaz lord but this is not the LORD God! She was acknowledging that Boaz had authority over her. Ruth chooses to follow Naomi her mother in-law back to the land of Judah. In turn Boaz would redeem Ruth and Ruth would serve Boaz for his kindness. In the end of this all we get the son named Obed!

Ruth 4:13-22

13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife, and he went in to her. And the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.

14 Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed is the Lord who has not left you without a redeemer today, and may his name become famous in Israel.

15 “May he also be to you a restorer of life and a sustainer of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.”

The Line of David Began Here

16 Then Naomi took the child and laid him in her lap, and became his nurse.

17 The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi!” So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

18 Now these are the generations of Perez: to Perez was born Hezron,

19 and to Hezron was born Ram, and to Ram, Amminadab,

20 and to Amminadab was born Nahshon, and to Nahshon, Salmon,

21 and to Salmon was born Boaz, and to Boaz, Obed,

22 and to Obed was born Jesse, and to Jesse, David.

The same bloodline that started with Lot and His daughter ended up giving birth to the one who became King of Israel (David) and later down the road giveing birth to the Christ or Messiah of Yahweh! Do you guys realize that anyone who turns their heart to this Christ (anointed one) of Yahweh can and will be forever redeemed. We have to make the choice to serve him though and in turn we have the greatest High priest, prophet, and soon to be King that the world has ever seen or will ever know! This gets so much deeper than this as well but this is just one of countless ways we can see how the living God (Yahweh) has been constantly allowing us to be repenting if one shall choose to seek Him with their whole heart. We are in the days just prior to Yahweh telling His Son Jesus to go get his bride. I have written many blogs that can help people understand and yet there is so much more I don’t even understand. I just know that I long to serve the God that gave me a way back to Him through Jesus. Just like Peter I know I am broken and can do nothing apart from the spirit of Yahweh in me. I also know that anyone who humbles themselves before Jesus will be taken to the Father. I also know that we can be taught via the Holy Spirit in all things! Many have just been deceived into thinking that their feelings are the reflection of the Holy Spirit. Well, that is another blog in itself. For now, I leave you with this site that can help you study!

May Yahweh Bless you and His Christ guide your hearts in the days ahead!
